The Grammy-nominated saxophonist and composer’s music is steeped in Afrofuturism, the exploration of how the cultures and experiences of the African diaspora intersect with science, philosophy and know-how. His newest album, The Universe’s Wildest Dream, invitations listeners to contemplate the miracle of life on Earth: a planet on which all the weather have mixed in the fitting steadiness to foster life as we all know it.
Though he instantly addresses the subjects of local weather change, the necessity to cool Earth by two levels, and his realization that music existed earlier than people, within the type of fowl songs, it would not really feel heavy-handed. His compositions are elegant, the melodies are contagious and the general vibe is upbeat and optimistic.
