At the least 17 individuals have been killed after an under-construction Railway bridge collapsed in Mizoram at the moment.
Officers stated many extra are feared trapped on the web site and efforts are on to rescue them. “There have been about 35 to 40 development staff when the bridge collapsed,” they stated.
The incident was reported from Sairang space, about 21 km from Aizawl.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed his anguish over the incident and introduced a compensation of Rs 2 lakh every for individuals who died within the accident, and Rs 50,000 every for the injured.

Mizoram Chief Minister Zoramthanga stated rescue operation is underway on the accident web site.
“Underneath development railway over bridge at Sairang, close to Aizawl collapsed at the moment; atleast 17 staff died: Rescue beneath progress. Deeply saddened and affected by this tragedy. I prolong my deepest condolences to all of the bereaved households and wishing a speedy restoration to the injured.
